Mohawk Matt (aka Matt Berman) is the Founder and Chief Barber of BOLT BARBERS™ with locations in DTLA, West Hollywood, and soon Downtown Las Vegas.  Established in 2009, Bolt has enjoyed meteoric growth thanks to its light hearted For Social Beasts® &Three Monkeys branding, Authenticity, and knack for creating community by providing dudes a third place (after home and work/school) to hang and just be themselves.  Bolt’s fun loving monkey business is perhaps best portrayed through their “People Hate Us on Yelp” social media campaign which features excerpts from Bolt’s own worst reviews as advertising fodder to come get shorn or shaved at Bolt Barbers.  Previously, Mohawk spent 25 years chasing cheese in the corporate world in senior marketing and general management positions with Procter & Gamble, Coty, Novartis, and Royal Numico (Acquired by Groupe Danone), before declaring his career a failure due to a big void in personal fulfillment and happiness. So Mohawk decided to reboot life as a barber.  Mohawk has an Advanced Management Degree from Wharton School of Business but is more proud of his 2009 certificate of graduation from Anaheim’s Real Barber College which opened the door for him to pursue a long time passion.

Mohawk has been bearded since leaving the boredom of the boardroom and nowadays especially enjoys his shaving creativity creating new looks on newly bearded dudes.
